A Fresh Start
I finally installed stuff wot makes a computer run onto my sooperfaast WD Something disc I bought 4 or 5 months ago. I had severe issues with some of the GIMP tools on my other laptop, in particular the Curves and Levels tools took forever to get going. I had no idea why and I'm not the type to flood developers with bug reports and get to the bottom of things (I'm very much an accept and workaround person in the case of bugs), but the problem seems to have been solved now. Everything is up and running instantly. Plus tons of unused disk space to waste. Great.
